Position: Superintendent
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site activities for residential or commercial projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage various trades and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
As Unified grows, we are excited to expand our team with another Superintendent. The key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Main Objective: Oversee daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work is progressing as planned.
Planning: Collaborate with Project Manager and subcontractors to create an executable plan for each project.
Scheduling: Maintain the schedule set forth by the project manager. Winning means hitting or exceeding our schedule.
Quality: Exceed client expectations around build quality, communication, and job management.
Subcontractors: Coordinate subcontractors at the jobsite and ensure they are appropriately progressing with their scope of work and hitting quality standards.
Materials: Manage material deliveries.
Financial: Work with the Project Manager to ensure the project is on budget.
Growth: Work with leadership team to evaluate and improve subcontractor base.
Communication: Communicate with all key stakeholders consistently, clearly, respectfully, and honestly.
Qualifications:
Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes (2-3 years minimum with demonstrable proficiency) is required. Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices is either required or must be quickly learned.
Leadership: 2-3 years experience in leadership is preferred. If it is not present we will need to quickly develop team management skills to effectively coordinate various trades and subcontractors.
Communication: Outstanding communication skills to liaise with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify issues, make quick decisions, and implement effective solutions.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in construction software, scheduling tools, and Google Suite.
